About the event
Real World is an immersive life-skills event designed to help youth in foster care gain hands-on experience with the responsibilities of adulthood. Participants move through interactive simulation of adulthood navigating housing, budgeting, employment, transportation, and health care to practice making real-life decisions in a supportive, educational environment.
The goal of Real World is to empower young people with practical knowledge, build confidence, and prepare them for successful independence. Families, caregivers, and community partners all play a vital role in making this event engaging, realistic, and fun for our youth.
